The National Universities Commission (NUC) has again accredited all Academic Programmes being offered in the University’s Faculty of Science.
This, according to the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Roberts Ogunduyile, is in line with NUC’s statutory function of re-accrediting courses in Nigerian universities every five years.
Prof. Ogunduyile who expressed satisfaction and happiness at the achievement, while chatting with OSUSTECH News in his office on Thursday, 24th January, 2019, thanked members of Management, Senate, Staff and Students of the University for their diligence, commitment to duty and prayers towards the success of the exercise.
He particularly appreciated the Ondo State Governor who is also the Visitor to the University, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, its team and members of the University’s Governing Council led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Prof. Akinbo Adesomoju for their unflinching support to the University in its quest for greater heights.
The Vice-Chancellor said the programmes re-accredited include: Fisheries and Aquaculture (Full accreditation), Botany (Full accreditation), Geophysics (Full accreditation), Industrial Chemistry (Full accreditation), Mathematics (Full accreditation), Microbiology (Full accreditation), Physics (Interim Accreditation) and Zoology (Full accreditation).
It would be recalled that programmes in the OSUSTECH’s Faculty of Science were last accredited in 2013.
Ondo State Governor, Arakurin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has tasked the Management of Rehoboth Centre for Advanced Technology to ensure a working and mutually productive partnership with OSUSTECH.
History was made on March 21, 2019 as the Governing Council of Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) Okitipupa appointed Prof. Francis Igbasan its first Deputy Vice Chancellor.
Academic and non-teaching staff in the Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH), Okitipupa have been advised to always relate well with the students of the Institution.
